DPD Investigating Theft Of E-Bike

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a man who stole an e-bike that was parked in front of a local business. The incident was recorded by the store's surveillance system. 

The incident happened on October 22nd at the Chevron station at 705 S. Thornton Avenue. The victim had left his Nakto electric bicycle parked in front of the business and discovered that it had been stolen. Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the store after arriving on foot at 3:13 PM. The suspect wlaked around the store before walking back outside about two minutes later. When he left, he had an item concealed in the bend of his elbow, but it was impossible to see what he had taken from the store. Once outside, the suspect walked to the e-bike which was parked just outside of the front doors. The suspect took the e-bike and left headed north towards Franklin Street. The stolen e-bike is a Nakto brand black electric bicycle with wide tires. The bicycle was purchased used for $1,500. The suspect is a Black male who wore glasses, light sweatpants, and a black Adidas t-shirt with white lettering on the front.
