Captain Jamie Johnson

The Criminal Investigations Division is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations, major-crime investigations, and specialized investigations, such as those involving narcotics and gangs.  CID is also responsible for crime/intelligence analysis, crime scene analysis/processing, and polygraph investigations.  Two Investigators are currently assigned to the FBI Conasauga Safe Streets Task Force.

Captain Jamie Johnson joined the police department in March 2000 as a patrol officer.  He has served as a supervisor since 2008 and was promoted to the rank of captain in June 2018.  Prior to his role as CID Division Commander, Captain Johnson served as the Patrol Division Commander and the Support Services Division Commander.  He is a 1999 graduate of East Tennessee State University and earned a master’s degree from Columbus State University in 2012.  Captain Johnson has received specialized management training from the Police Executives’ Research Forum, FBI LEEDS (Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar), and the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.
