The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify who was driving a car that struck a parked vehicle before leaving the scene. The incident was recorded by surveillance cameras in the parking lot.
The collision happened in the Walmart parking lot at 815 Shugart Road. At approximately 1:20 pm, a red Dodge Challenger entered the parking lot and pulled into a parking spot next to the victim's red Kia K4. The Challenger scraped by the driver's side of the Kia, causing extensive damage. The investigating officer says the driver of the Challenger then got out of the vehicle and appeared to inspect the damage and did not go inside of the store. Approximately 15 minutes later, a dark green or black Chevy Camaro arrived at the scene. The driver of the Camaro exited and then got into the Challenger and then drove it away from the scene. The original driver of the Challenger then got into the black Camaro and left the scene.
Pictures of the vehicles involved and the damage to the Kia are included below.
