Chris Crossen

Assistant Chief Chris Crossen is a Whitfield County native and a graduate of both Northwest Whitfield High School and Dalton State College, earning an associate’s degree in 1994.  He also earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Georgia State in 1996 and a master’s degree in public administration from Columbus State University in 2012.  Assistant Chief Crossen has been a member of the Dalton Police Department since 1996 when he began his career as a patrol officer.  Prior to being named as Assistant Chief in June of 2018, Crossen served in many roles, including division commander of the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division.  He is a graduate of the FBI's National Academy and has specialized management training from the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police and the Police Executives’ Research Forum.  Assistant Chief Crossen is an active member of the Dalton Kiwanis Club.
