Emery Street/Ridge Street Intersection To Close For Construction

Friday, March 22nd, 2024

An ongoing stormwater management project will soon require the closing of the intersection of Ridge Street and Emery Street. The intersection, which is near the West Hill Cemetery, could be closed as soon as Monday, March 25th if weather conditions allow construction to proceed. Once the intersection is closed, it is expected to be closed for up to two weeks. Detours will be posted.

Once the intersection is closed, traffic on Emery Street will be diverted onto Lewell Street, Crawford Street, and Valley Drive to bypass the area. However, when possible motorists should avoid the area to avoid delays.

The roadwork is part of the construction of the Ridge Street stormwater bypass project that has been under construction for several weeks. Once the construction in the Ridge Street/Emery Street intersection is completed next month, work will continue and require Emery Street to be reduced to one lane between Greenwod Drive and Ridge Street as part of work that will complete the final elements connecting to the new stormwater detention pond in the West Hill Cemetery.
