City Hosts Annual Employee Thanksgiving
Tuesday, November 15th, 2022
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all of our blessings and gifts, and also to spend time with family and friends and reflect on all of the accomplishments and adventures from the year that is winding down. On Tuesday afternoon, the City of Dalton did just that with our work family, hosting a Thanksgiving lunch for City employees at the Mack Gaston Community Center.

City employees were served a meal of turkey, dressing, and traditional sides by the Mayor and Council and also City department heads. The meal was catered by the Oakwood Cafe. Employees were able to take their lunch break at the community center, though many took to-go meals back to their employees in public safety jobs who had to remain on duty.
This year's Thanksgiving lunch was the first to be served in person since 2019. In 2020 and 2021, the employee meals were served on a drive-thru basis due to concerns about the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Being able to celebrate together again was a welcome return to a Thanksgiving tradition for the City of Dalton family.
The City of Dalton thanks all of our employees who have worked hard this year to keep Dalton safe and thriving. We're thankful for all that you do for our residents, businesses, and visitors.
