Equipment Operator (Landscaping Division) - Public Works
The City of Dalton Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for an Equipment Operator. This is a full-time position in the Landscaping Division with a starting pay rate to be determined based on experience. This position involves the skillset to operate a variety of equipment, machinery, and vehicles, including backhoes, excavators, gradalls, skid-steer loaders, and mowing equipment. This position also includes related task such as driving a single/tandem axle dump truck to transport landscaping materials or other debris to various sites; assisting with right of way maintenance activities, including the use of chainsaws or other landscaping tools, mowing, weed trimming, herbicide application, tree removal/maintenance, working from a bucket truck as needed; and other duties as assigned. Applicants are required to have a valid Driver’s License and a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License must be obtained within six (6) months. Class “B” license training provided by the City of Dalton at no cost to employee.
