Special Called Mayor and Council Meeting Thursday

The Mayor and Council of the City of Dalton will hold a Special Called Mayor and Council Meeting on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 8:00AM in the Raymond A. Elrod Council Chambers at Dalton City Hall for the purpose of holding a Second Reading of Ordinance 26-01 To hear the request of Metro Investments, LLC to annex 1.0 acres located at 1822 Chattanooga Road, Dalton, Georgia into the City of Dalton as General Commercial (C-2) Parcel (12-159-01-129) and for a Resolution to Call for a Special Election for the Councilmember Ward 2 seat.

Councilmember Nicky Lama has announced his intention to run for the vacant 14th district Congressional seat, which by law will require him to resign from the City Council.
