Northwest Georgia Regional Commission Hosting Planning Meeting October 30th

Monday, October 23rd, 2023

The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission is working on the 2024-2028 strategic plan for our region and leaders are asking for your input. On Monday, October 30th, there will be a drop-in style open house meeting for residents to meet with planners and provide feedback on important issues including economic development, transportation, housing, natural and cultural resources, development patterns, and more. The NWGRC's Dalton office is located at 503 West Waugh Street and residents are welcome to drop in between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm for the meeting.

The NWGRC is updating the regional plan in accordance with Georgia Department of Community Affairs standards, to include regional goals, development maps, needs and opportunities, and an implementation program for 2024-2028. Staff will gather input from the NWGRC Council, regional stakeholders, and the public to identify regional needs and opportunities and update each part of the plan.  Public Input Sessions will be held across the region. The plan area includes 15 counties (Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Walker, Whitfield) and 48 municipalities therein.
